A plumber is an expert in plumbing services that we call when we have common plumbing problems like broken pipelines, broken fixtures, clogging etc. They come to work and fix our problems.

A plumbing contractor is the person or a company under which a plumber works. They have a small plumbing business. They deal with various kinds of plumbing tasks. There are residential plumbing contractors who work for residential spaces only. Our daily plumbing problems at home are solved by them. A plumbing contractor may have licenses and additional training to work for larger plumbing companies.
What is the work of a plumber?
The functions of a plumber include installation and repair of pipelines, faucets, fixtures in bathrooms or kitchens, sinks, bathtubs, showers, sprinklers, shower drains, hot water dispensers, cleaning pipelines, sewer lines, water filtration and many more. They are experts and professionals that save us at our times of need. They handle everything from overflowing toilets to clogged sinks and burst pipes.
What is the work of a plumbing contractor?
All residential plumbing contractors generally deal with more complex tasks than a plumber. Their works include renovation or construction of waste disposal systems or pipeline systems of a house, installation of gas connections, gas control valves, water heaters, flues, backflow prevention, water conditioning, soften equipment and appliances connected to the home’s water system etc. They also manage slab leaks and gas leaks, yard lines and water leak repair. The plumbing contractors supervise and give final inspection on the plumbing work of a house. The residential plumbing contractors can be considered as plumbing consultants during the planning of a home. They provide expert suggestions and supervise the whole plumbing system of the house.
Plumbing contractors have a lot more skills and knowledge in not only plumbing but also construction and renovation and can take more requests than plumbers. However, it all depends on the customer’s problems whether they want a plumber or a plumbing contractor.
